JAGUAR XJ6 4.2 - BRITISH ELEGANCE AND TIMELESS STYLE!

Now on offer is a true classic - a 1978 Jaguar XJ6 4.2, one of the most stylish luxury cars of all time!

This example stands out thanks to its rare vinyl roof and tinted windows. It is not a US-market model, but a Euro-spec car. The car was manufactured under licence in South Africa and spent its youth in Zambia's warm climate before later being brought to Finland. Thanks to the dry climate, the body has remained in exceptionally good condition. A thorough rustproofing treatment was carried out when it was imported to Finland.

A known weakness of the XJ range is moisture entering the structure through ageing window seals, which can lead to paint bubbling and rust, especially around the A and C pillars. In this car, the glass has been removed and all seals replaced, and there is no rust in those areas.

The equipment also includes air conditioning, electric windows and working central locking.

The interior has remained in very fine condition. The headliner is still taut and not sagging, the dashboard is intact without cracks, and the wood trim is exceptionally clean. The genuine leather seats are still as soft as an old sofa at grandma's. The headrests are also in good condition. These parts often harden over time, but that has not happened here.

A great deal has been invested in the mechanics. The brakes have been fully renewed (discs, pads, lines, fluids and callipers), the windscreen has been replaced with a new one and the battery renewed. The engine runs smoothly, does not smoke and works as it should. The gearbox has been refurbished, shifts smoothly and there are no extra noises from the rear axle. In addition, the cooling system (water pump, radiator, hoses, belts) has been updated with new parts.

The car has nearly unused period-correct whitewall tyres, which complete its classic look.

However, the car is already old, so you should not expect it to be equivalent to a 2026 model year car. The paintwork is slightly worn in a few places and has been touched up, but as you can see from the pictures, nothing catastrophic at all.
