BMW F10 – stylish and well maintained, ready to drive with minor finishing touches

For sale: a very tidy and striking BMW F10. The car is generally in good condition and many large, costly services have been carried out, so the foundation is in order. Due to age and mileage there are some minor finishing touches to be done, but a handy person can easily fix these. The bodywork is very clean for its age, with no rust or major dents.

Engine and technical condition

During the previous ownership the engine and a new DPF were fitted. The engine was replaced at 368,000 km by another dealer; it was an inspected used engine with roughly 264,000 km on it at the time of fitting. The timing chain was checked during the swap and found to be in good condition. The turbo was also renewed in June 2022, when the odometer showed 318,000 km, so that has been taken care of. Required ancillaries and accessories were transferred from the old engine.

On a test drive the engine runs cleanly both cold and warm, and no unusual noises have been heard.

Equipment and appearance

An aftermarket M‑Sport exterior and interior package has been fitted. The installation was done carefully and neatly, not hastily. The overall look is very striking and well finished. At a glance the only missing M‑Sport item is the M‑Sport steering wheel.

Test drive and tyres

The car was driven on a test loop of about 200 kilometres. On the winter tyres there is a vibration at around 120 km/h which may be corrected by re‑balancing the wheels. A short test on the summer tyres (about 20 km) did not show vibration at around 100 km/h. It has also been noticed that the car pulls slightly to the right, so an alignment check is needed. Of the summer tyres two are in acceptable condition and two are poor. The fronts should last this summer, but the rear tyres need immediate replacement. For winter there are friction (studded‑alternative) tyres with acceptable tread. (See photos)

Notes and known faults

The front passenger headlight reports multiple faults (see photos). Most likely this is the light control unit or a similar electrical component. The brakes indicate pad replacement is required, although new rear discs and pads have already been fitted. The rear window on the passenger side does not work and sometimes registers an error in the trip computer.

Summary

Well repaired and neatly equipped F10 with the biggest issues already dealt with. An excellent option for someone who wants a stylish, comfortable BMW at a sensible price — with a few small fixes you will have a great car. Overall this F10 is very tidy for its age.
