It’s rare that an entire TV series is made around a single car, but this car was — which makes it unique in the history of Finnish TV.

A car that needs little introduction. A piece of Finnish TV history: Latela, the mother of all Finnish car shows, and its star from the second season — Latela’s “piiperi” P100, which the Latela boys built in just 20 days and nights. The car is still in the same condition as 14 years ago. A car that deserves a golden Venla for starring role! Stored in a heated garage waiting for this day, to be shown to the public again. Not MOT-tested and driven only just over 100 km during that time. Brakes and other parts are not seized.

No rust or patina — the same striking appearance. Truly unbelievable! The current owner bought the car directly from the Latela boys and has kept it professionally to preserve its condition. It has been moved and started a couple of times a year. It would not start under its own power recently because the fuel pump did not run. Presumably the same fault the Latela boys searched for when working on the car in episode 3 — a loose connector to the ECU, guessed Latela’s Huttunen when the owner asked. But once fuel was pumped in, the two-litre DOHC woke up and ran nicely. Still driven under its own power as recently as last autumn :) This fault will be fixed if time allows before handover, but for now it is listed as requiring repair and it is not MOT-tested. Odometer reading 64,279 km. The vehicle’s true mileage is unknown. The car is otherwise in the same condition as in 2014! The advertised power 57 kW refers to the previous engine. A more powerful DOHC engine was also fitted during filming.
