Turbo Lada – 1.7 multipoint injection + TD04

Re-inspected conversion: 1.7 multipoint injection (Niva engine), TD04 turbo and Vems V3 standalone engine management, intercooler. Vems monitor and an analogue exhaust gas temperature gauge replace the clock. Maps for ethanol and petrol. (Currently running on ethanol.) Front seats from an RX‑8; passenger seat has electric adjustment. New windscreen and rear springs. New summer tyres fitted. Includes studded tyres (tyres only) and rear window plastic louvres (lower mounts broken).

During the test drive we made the following observations

  • We drove approx. 50 km for the test. Fun and lively to drive. Mechanics and drivetrain OK. Hesitation/jerking at steady throttle on the road. Expect various tinkering and adjustments for the next enthusiast.

  • Rust damage to the underbody and the exhaust is hanging. (See photos!)

  • Coolant drips from the front of the engine bay.


The vehicle has been test driven by us and fluid levels have been checked. The vehicle has not been subject to a technical inspection by us and not all equipment functions have been tested.
