This has a towbar and towing capacity suitable for towing even a larger boat. The largest model in Volkswagen’s SUV range is, of course, premium-equipped: leather seats with electric adjustment and memory, a fuel-operated auxiliary heater, LED headlights, parking sensors, cruise control, etc.
The car is generally in decent condition for its age. A few negatives: a dent on the driver’s front wheel arch and the driver’s front door inner trim is coming away at the armrest.
Currently fitted with nearly-new summer tyres and the sale includes reasonably good studded tyres on both original Volkswagen wheels.
Technically the car runs well, gears change smoothly and the engine has good power. There are no unusual knocks or rattles, and it does not pull to one side.
We took the car to inspection where a small engine oil leak and a dragging electronic parking brake were found. Fixing the parking brake should be sufficient for the MOT to pass.
A little work and this is a great car!
