A picture-perfect Ghia Mondeo brought to auction!

This Mondeo has clearly served several owners well. The car is rather rough externally and internally, but that can be forgiven for a vehicle with over 500,000 km.
We didn't find specific faults on the test drive, but a car like this — which has likely survived things others wouldn't — will surely have issues.

Driving-wise the car is as good as one can expect. It runs well and steers, but the mileage and less-than-ideal maintenance have taken their toll. This example has certainly not been well cared for: according to the service book the timing belt was last changed in 2013, and there are no records of a gearbox oil change.
It would be remarkable if the Powershift has actually lasted on the original oil for over half a million kilometres, which I strongly doubt. It remains a mystery how many gearboxes the car has had.

There is wear and tear externally and internally, but most interior items are intact and the options we tried appeared to work. Whether you find the exterior hideous or charming is up to you — I won't comment. This car will certainly keep you on your toes! Every trip is a thrill: will the odometer gain another hundred or ten? Every gear change and acceleration is a new adventure! And the MOT is valid until September 2026!

As this Mondeo is the Ghia trim, it has a fair amount of equipment:

- Drives as a car with 500,000 km and somewhat poor maintenance would
- Gearbox and transmission work fairly OK; the gearbox is a bit harsh, especially when pulling away
