Nissan Qashqai+2 2.0 Acenta-RC CVT 4WD *Webasto, Four‑wheel drive*, 2010, Lappeenranta

Hello to all auction-goers.

This time up for sale is the Finns' favourite, the Nissan Qashqai — not a basic trim version but a 7-seater (+2) with excellent Acenta-RC equipment, an automatic gearbox and four-wheel drive, so it is one of the more valuable variants in the range.

The 2.0-litre petrol engine has a reputation for durability and this one doesn't have timing-belt problems — it uses a timing chain.

Cosmetically the car is still in good condition for its age. It has no dents and it has never been abused. There are no major signs of wear and no rust. The only noteworthy issue is some paint damage on the front bumper, but that is not a big deal on a car like this — these are everyday cars, not showpieces.

The equipment is excellent: navigation, a reversing camera, tinted glass, a glass roof and more. Notably this example also has a Webasto heater, which is rare. All other features work but I couldn't get the cruise control to switch on — I can't say what the fault is.

There is also a tow hitch, which is important to many.

The interior is tidy and clean and, most importantly, it hasn't had cigarettes smoked in it nor been used to carry pets — it's clean and fresh to breathe. With a normal vacuum and wipe it will be excellent.

This is not a short-term car: the previous owner had it for over ten years, so it was clearly well liked.

Servicing has been reasonably well looked after over the years; not everything was done at a franchised dealer but it was done somewhere and there are some entries. Only a few thousand kilometres have been driven since the last service but it has been just over a year. From the dipstick the oil still looked good.

The car drives well; it has plenty of power and the transmission works well both up and down. The suspension doesn't rattle and the bearings are fine. I don't think anything will be required for the MOT.

The glass and lights are intact and both tyres are still in OK condition.

So all the basics are in order. This car still has many carefree years and kilometres ahead of it.

A car like this might go to a dealer for valeting and display, but here cars of this age are sent to auction and, as usual, we take a small risk and set the starting bid at €100 — and I'm sure the highest bidder will collect it. A proper honest auction with no reserves or price holds. That's the spirit of the game.

There are plenty of photos and I filmed a couple of videos; I believe the car will show well on those too. Of course you can come and inspect and test-drive it at Lappeenrannan Auto-Kilta — it's parked outside so you can also view it in the evening if you wish.
