Just inspected, mechanically sound and substantially restored 2-door OG900 4-speed carburettor Saab.


Currently fitted with Saab steel wheels and stainless caps with studded tyres in good condition. Loose new summer tyres are included. The carburettor has been adjusted. The original working radio is also included!


The previous paint was very wild, so it has been repainted to look better. The plastic trims are still missing, but I will glue them back on.


The headliner has just been reupholstered with some red upholstery fabric bought at the local fabric shop. The original was so filthy and worn that something had to be done. The seats are quite faded but can be revived easily.


Recently replaced/repaired parts (receipts available):

- valve cover gasket

- distributor rotor

- exhaust manifold gasket

- new battery

- distributor cap

- spark plugs

- ignition leads

- ignition coil

- oil and filter

- thermostat

The head was torqued during the overhaul to the manufacturer's sequence and torque settings, and a follow-up tightening was done recently.


Drawbacks:

- The front light reflector surfaces are poor, and there is a small dent in a front wing. A sound wing will be included.

- The fuel gauge went silent over the winter; the float is likely stuck, as it was not a contact fault.

- The instrument cluster backlights do not work; new bulbs are included.

- The engine is oily, as seems common on many Saabs (it does not lose significant amounts of oil).

- The handbrake travel is a bit too large; I will try to adjust it.


Some spare parts are included.
