The apartment is well laid-out and attractive and has quality surfaces in the form of white‑lacquered 1‑strip oak parquet, a grey quartz worktop in the kitchen, appliances including a quality pyrolytic oven and induction hob with a larger‑than‑usual cooking area for, for example, a griddle. The bathroom has large grey stone tiles and ample space for a washer/dryer stacked unit neatly behind a glass door. The apartment has plenty of storage and a good‑sized entrance hall with room even when the whole family is getting dressed at once. There is underfloor heating in all rooms, allowing for wider/taller windows because no radiator space is needed. From the glazed balcony and all rooms there are views to a quiet park in the old hospital area. The door to the largest bedroom is a sliding door, which is not shown on the floor plan.

Shared facilities

Shared facilities include a sauna section on the top floor, where you can book your own sauna slot or use a drop‑in sauna once a week. There is a well‑equipped, large laundry room with separate drying areas, modern, large storage for outdoor equipment and prams, and an apartment‑specific heated storage cage.

Services

On the other side of the park there are both Finnish and Swedish day‑care centres and preschools. Schools for older children include Käpylä and Koskela. Arabianranta and Oulunkylä are also easily reachable. You can reach the city centre in as little as 20 minutes.

Within walking distance are the services of both Käpylä and Koskela with shops, cafés and restaurants. The cooperative’s rules also allow resale and subletting of the apartment. Details can be found in the attached cooperative rules. As a cooperative member you can participate fully in the cooperative’s decision‑making and the cooperative consists only of its members.

Because this is a cooperative, there are no separate maintenance charges or financing charges for the apartment; instead the member’s rent covers these costs. Currently the rent for apartment A5 is €2,237.20. When the cooperative converts to a housing company this will become a maintenance charge and the cost of your own loan, or a financing charge if you choose a company loan. The debt share can also be paid off in full if desired. The maintenance charge is estimated at about €700–€800 / month based on current calculations.

The cooperative is currently undergoing a process to change ownership form from a cooperative to a regular housing company. Cooperative members will have the opportunity at the end of the process to redeem the apartment designated by their membership. At present the buy‑out price for apartment A5 is estimated at €281,428. The exact final purchase price will be determined as the process progresses, but current information is believed to be reasonably accurate. The cooperative’s properties were realised as a group building project, so the price is very affordable compared with similarly sized family flats in the area.

According to current information it is likely that a company loan will also be offered as a financing option in the form of a financing charge. The cooperative hopes the change will be decided and completed during 2026.
