For sale: well‑kept, recently inspected Japanese ‘Mercedes’ — Toyota’s top model, the Camry — in a newer body.

Originally a Finnish‑registered car; history and documents available.

This is a Japanese luxury model and it shows. The car is exceptionally spacious both inside and in the boot. There is room for five large adults easily and weekend luggage fits well.

The interior is almost like new. The exterior is tidy for its age; there are rust repairs visible on the arches (photographed) which were done properly. Not ugly. A small surface rust spot on the tailgate (photographed). These are the only exterior negatives. The left front wing has at some point received a dent (photographed) and the left‑hand mirror housing is slightly scuffed (photographed). You don’t notice these unless you look for them.

The engine is Toyota’s tough petrol unit that won’t give up in use. Quirky automotive fact — a 2.4‑litre four‑cylinder; you won’t break this engine by driving it. The largest four‑cylinder they made, torquey and pleasant, which together with the manual gearbox gives low consumption (my average 6.4 l/100 km). Chain drive, no belt replacement worry.

The car has good summer tyres on alloy wheels and comes with good studded winter tyres (studs intact, 7 mm tread) on steel wheels.

Comfortable, large, spacious and warm, heats up quickly — a good winter car. In summer the automatic air conditioning keeps things comfortable (blows cold).

The car drives smoothly and the interior is pleasant and airy; visibility from the driver’s seat is excellent and both driver and passengers are comfortable. The seats are great to sit in with good adjustments. The cabin smells clean, no smoking. Lights are good, not faded, with a good beam and night visibility.

The big engine ensures confident overtaking and a comfortable ride. Built on rock‑solid Toyota engineering overall.

Equipment includes e.g. electric windows x4, electric mirrors, central locking with key, boot and fuel flap release from inside, automatic air conditioning, rear window heater, a good sounding and powerful head unit, trip computer, cruise control, towbar, two sets of tyres, two keys (one with worn plastic), front and rear fog lights — probably forgot to list something.
