The barrel is made of polyethylene and is completely seamless, very easy to keep clean and simple to use.

The complete delivery includes a stylish, snow-load-resistant plastic cover with lifting handle, a large approx. 35 kW marine-aluminium stove, a drain tap and drainpipe. The barrel is thermally insulated. The base contains 45 cm Styrox fill, so this tub will not suffer from frost. The outer shell is domestic heat-treated pine (Lunawood). The tub package is 100% Finnish craftsmanship.

The Classic Hot Tub from Hyvän Kaupan Paikka is manufactured in Finland down to every particle. We are proud of our production line and have made this Classic Hot Tub model for years using the same reliable method. The rim panels arrive at the factory as long stock. They are cut to size and made into an element into which the pre-glued Jackon insulation base from Sastamala and the maintenance-free PE plastic basin moulded by Pipelif e from Oulu are inserted. Our production experts drill the drain hole in the base, cut the heater holes in the side and install the hoses. Finally the package is carefully tilted on its side to install the drain pipe.

The Classic Hot Tub is delivered freight-free to its new happy owner, who only needs a water hose, firewood and fire-making tools. The new owner should ensure the tub is installed level so the water does not settle unevenly. Instructions are included, but in practice you only need to secure the heater to the tub with hose clamps on a level surface, screw in the heater’s drain valve and off you go.

Improved seating comfort in the rotationally moulded basin — also for taller bathers

The maintenance-free rotationally moulded PE basin comes almost from next door, from Pipelif e in Oulu. Their factory forms the basin from plastic granules in a precise process. The plastic is placed in a mould which turns in an oven for an hour. After cooling the basin is ready to be transferred to Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s production line.

We paid special attention to seating comfort when designing the basin. The sides are not vertical; a wedge-shaped insulating air gap is left between the basin and the rim panel that supports the bather’s back better. Our tubs have higher rims on average than other manufacturers, so taller bathers’ shoulders sink below the steam line and the neck stays warm. Seat comfort is top-class and legs are not cramped despite the height — the bench is not too low.

Super-efficient marine-aluminium stove

The marine-aluminium stoves included in our tubs are made in Finland. The powerful 35 kW stove copes even with seawater — it works with both fresh and sea water. Thoughtful material details make the stove a top product. Marine aluminium conducts heat well, the front plate is stainless steel and the glass door lets you check the fire without opening it. The stove package includes two metres of chimney pipe and a rain cap; if you want extra pipe, a spark guard or a protection grid, see the accessory list.

Remember that chlorine is not recommended with marine aluminium, as chlorine oxidises the material. We recommend changing the water regularly and using active oxygen tablets (see accessories). Active oxygen treats water for about one day, after which the water can be used for watering plants as it contains no added chemicals and is safer for children. Untreated water easily forms a slimy film on the tub edges, but active oxygen prevents this.

Easy low-effort maintenance

The Classic Hot Tub does not suffer from freezing even if the ground frosts. The 45 cm insulated Styrox base prevents cold reaching the bottom and helps keep the water warmer. A plastic cover is included, which significantly reduces heat loss. A well-heated tub can be brought back to temperature the next morning with a single fire.

Warmth also radiates from the Lunawood heat-treated pine panels that finish the tub’s appearance. You do not need to treat the pine; it will weather to a beautiful grey over time. If you prefer to keep the brown tone, apply wood oil annually. The plastic basin is maintenance-free because seamless moulding prevents dirt collecting in joints. Remember to clean the basin surfaces when changing water — easy with normal detergents. Careful users may disinfect more often; ensure wastewater is handled correctly.
