History of the Luxor brand:

Swedish Luxor AB was founded in Motala over 100 years ago and grew into a major radio and television manufacturer. In the 1970s, one in three televisions in use in Sweden was a Luxor product. Nokia bought the company in 1983 and moved production to Finland, until the brand came under Vestel ownership in 2006.

Key milestones:

- Founded: Over 100 years ago in Motala, Sweden.

- Golden era: In the 1970s, Luxor was Sweden’s market leader in televisions.

- Nokia era: In 1983–1984, Nokia bought Luxor from the Swedish state, and production moved to Finland.

- Part of the Salora-Luxor group: At its largest, the company was Europe’s sixth-largest television manufacturer.

- Today: The brand is owned by Turkish company Vestel, and its products are imported by Finnish company Helkama Kodinkoneet Oy.

Luxor uses Samsung and LG display panels in its televisions, depending on the size and model.
