History of the Luxor brand:

Swedish Luxor AB was founded in Motala over 100 years ago and developed into a significant radio and television manufacturer. By the 1970s, one in three of its products was in use in Sweden. Nokia acquired the company in 1983, moving production to Finland, until the brand came under Vestel ownership in 2006.

Key milestones:

- Founded: Over 100 years ago in Motala, Sweden.

- Golden age: In the 1970s, Luxor was Sweden's market leader in televisions.

- Nokia era: In 1983–1984, Nokia bought Luxor from the Swedish state, and production moved to Finland.

- Part of the Salora-Luxor group: At its largest, the company was Europe's sixth-largest television manufacturer.

- Today: The brand is owned by Turkey's Vestel, and the devices are imported by Finnish Helkama Kodinkoneet Oy.

Luxor uses Samsung and LG display panels in its televisions, depending on the TV's size and model.
