BMW 325iX Coupé E30 – M20B25 – Four-wheel drive – Manual

BMW E30 325iX Coupé imported from Sweden to Finland in summer 2024.

This is a rarer E30 model combining the M20B25 straight-six, manual gearbox and four-wheel-drive transmission. The car has an M-Tech body kit and interior, which suit the E30’s timeless appearance well.

The car has JR9 17” alloy wheels, and the tyres have plenty of tread remaining.

Mechanics and chassis

The car is in good mechanical condition. However, the gear lever has lateral play, which affects its feel. I have traced the cause to the gear lever bushes, which are included.

Underneath, the car is tidy for its age and largely rust-free. Some chassis components, such as the control arms, do have areas of surface rust.

Body and interior

The body is generally tidy for its age, but the paintwork has some signs of use. A few wheel arches have minor paint damage and early surface rust.

With the current wheel and tyre combination, the tyres rub slightly against the rear wheel arches. This has caused some paint damage to the arch edges, which should be noted when driving with the current tyres.

The interior shows some signs of the car’s age and use. The steering-wheel upholstery is worn and there is a crack in the dashboard. There are also other normal signs of use, but overall the interior remains tidy.

Summary

A rarer four-wheel-drive E30 Coupé with plenty of potential, for example as an enthusiast’s car. The car is not faultless and has cosmetic imperfections from age and use, as well as some minor work for an enthusiastic owner. Overall, however, it is fully roadworthy, tidy for its age and in good mechanical condition.
