Mitsubishi L200, 2000, Lieto

Now getting rid of this never-ending project from the yard, because there clearly isn’t enough time for it!

The car came to me in 2019 and was not roadworthy then; the engine had seized. I searched for an engine for a long time and found a low-mileage one in summer 2020. After changing it, I got the car inspected.

The replacement engine had then covered only approx. 250,000 km, while the body had 370,000 km. I replaced the timing belt on the engine at the time, but it probably needs replacing again as its age is becoming an issue.

Since then, the car has been driven approx. 4,000 km, and its inspection expired at the end of 2024.

I bought a snowplough package for the car some time ago, intending to install it, but it has become a never-ending project! The plough is, as I recall, 240 cm wide, and the package included everything needed to build a hydraulically swivelling and lifting plough. It should include joysticks for operation inside the cab, a valve block, pump, oil reservoir, brackets, etc. I have never inspected the contents, but the package has been fitted to an L200 Mitsubishi and should be complete; however, I cannot guarantee this.

In its current condition, the car runs and the engine works well, but the front brake calliper on the driver’s side is sticking. I have pushed the pads back and used the handbrake when moving it around the yard. The car has also suffered from corrosion: there is rust around the wheel arches, which does not prevent it passing inspection, or at least did not previously. There is rust on the chassis, but that is the case with all Mitsubishis of this age.

With the plough installed, someone can turn this into a reliable snow-clearing machine for next winter, or an off-road hunting vehicle.

It appears to have fairly new studded winter tyres (in terms of tread), and summer tyres are included, but I do not remember their condition!

All interested parties are encouraged to come and inspect the car, so they know what they are bidding on.
