🛠 Full disclosure – the car’s current condition: The engine warning light is on due to an excessive particulate filter (DPF) value. Fortunately, this has not been a matter of guesswork: the car has already undergone an accurate workshop diagnosis. You know exactly what you are taking on:

• The workshop attempted DPF regeneration, but the required temperature was not reached.

• The exhaust system has a separate fuel supply and glow plug for this purpose. The glow plug was tested as faulty and has now been replaced with a new one!

• The temperature warning continued. As the new glow plug works, the fault has been traced to the exhaust fuel supply unit/injector. Repairing this is estimated to cost only around €400–500.

• Good news: The warning light was temporarily switched off! Two regeneration attempts cleaned the filter enough for the ash value to drop by half.
