Defects and other observations

Modifications have been detected in the engine programming or exhaust systems, which means the vehicle is not roadworthy. The car has not undergone a technical inspection, and the operation of all equipment has not been tested. The car can be viewed at our car dealership in Vaasa. 


Workshop diagnosis:
- Engine started. An exhaust smell was detected inside, and hissing was heard beneath the car. When the accelerator is pressed, the car emits a puff of black exhaust smoke. After the accelerator is pressed,

the engine runs roughly but evens out after a while.


- Fault codes read: reports boost pressure too low and several fault codes for the boost pressure actuator.

- Boost pressure actuator function test carried out. The actuator sticks and works intermittently.


- Turbocharger checked: the shaft has longitudinal and lateral play. The turbo bearings are noisy. The turbocharger intake pipe was not properly locked to the turbocharger. The intake-pipe fastening clamp at the air-filter end is faulty. The intake pipe is not properly attached to the air-filter housing. The turbocharger must be replaced.


- Exhaust checked and the catalytic converter was found to be rattling. The catalytic converter was removed and inspected. The catalytic converter has melted at the front. The DPF was also found to be damaged/melted. The catalytic converter and DPF must be replaced.


- The damage was probably caused by a faulty boost pressure actuator/turbocharger and a detached intake pipe. The car has also been REMAPPED! Is the software suitable for the back pressure produced by the DPF/catalytic converter? Returning the engine software to standard is recommended. After repairs, correct engine operation must be verified

The car has since been remapped back to standard, but the damage caused by the remapping has not been repaired.
