Mercedes-Benz E, 2010, Pori

Mercedes-Benz E 350 CDI Estate (2010) – Power and space, a top car with a little work!

Up for auction: a true motorway cruiser with a powerful V6 diesel! This spacious E-Class offers unbeatable driving comfort, safety and power in its price range. The car is driveable and has been used daily, but now requires some enthusiast work and minor repairs.

A great opportunity for a DIY enthusiast or anyone looking for an affordable premium estate and comfortable with tools. Below is the diagnosis received from the workshop.

The car’s market value is approximately €10,900

• The plastic cover under the engine is very oily

• A clear oil leak from the gearbox torque converter bell housing; oil is reaching the exhaust and smokes when it heats up

• The torque converter oil plug is dry

• The front of the engine is oily

• The gearbox must be removed to identify the exact source of the gearbox oil leak (possible sources include the torque converter seal and the oil pump housing seal)

• The connection between the air filter and turbo is leaking oil

• The boost pipe between the turbo silencer and intercooler is leaking oil

• Extensive oil leakage/seepage around the high-pressure pump and turbo. To locate the source, cleaning is required, followed by driving/operating the car and removing the upper radiator hose, the pipe from the turbo to the silencer, and the silencer itself

• Oil leakage/seepage between the vacuum pump and EGR. Requires cleaning and driving/operating the engine to locate the fault

A great project for someone with the skills, time and space – a superb car with a little work.
