Toyota Hilux 2.5 D-4D, 2006, Kuopio

Sold at auction: a tough workhorse, a forester's dream, a reindeer tamer: Toyota Hilux 2.5 D-4D with the laziest 75 kW, but also the toughest, diesel engine. Even Top Gear would not have killed a vehicle like this. The car has been used by a forestry company and the full purchase price is VAT-deductible for businesses. This example unusually has both air conditioning and an engine block heater, so it will stay manageable in winter and not overheat in summer. Technology:
- Technically, this is as reliable as a train toilet. It seems to work. However, please note that it has been used hard, so repairs will surely be needed at some point. An oil change service is due.
- The engine is a 2.5-litre turbocharged diesel. Timing belt replaced in 2020 at 468,000 km. Replacement interval 150,000 km. Regularly serviced. Runs well, starts well, pulls as it should. Does not seem to smoke.
- The gearbox is a five-speed manual. It and the clutch work well. No complaints. Four-wheel drive works, including low range.
- Brakes ok, including parking brake. The car stops normally.
- Underbody ok. No remarks. Nice to drive.
- Electrical equipment seems ok. The engine block heater has not been tested and the air conditioning probably needs repair. It did not seem to give the coldest possible air when warm.

Body, interior, windscreen
- The body has some imperfections. Overall appearance is tidier. See pictures.
- Interior ok, normal wear, but it does not smell of dog or diesel.
- Windscreen ok.

Service history and background:
- Originally sold new in Finland. No accident history or similar.
- Service book ok. Documented in photos in the listing.
