Toyota Avensis, 2006, Joensuu

Here’s a cute Avensis for repair or as parts. It is being sold because it failed the inspection and I’m not going to have it repaired myself. The car is driving prohibited; the defect list is in the last picture.

During my ownership (4 years), the following have been replaced, among other things;

- Alternator and battery

- Rear control arms

- Blower motor

For an unknown reason, it blows a coil once a year when the autumn rains begin. About a month ago the 4-cylinder coil and spark plugs were replaced at the same time.

The windscreen has a fairly long crack on the driver’s side; this has not yet been noted at the inspection.

At idle, the revs fluctuate slightly at regular intervals.

Water is leaking into the boot from somewhere.

The bumper on the driver’s side is cracked and patched together; the driver’s side inner wheel arch liner is also worn away almost completely.

If the car is repaired for driving, an oil change is due.

The central locking works from the door; the rubber buttons on the key have come off. There are 2 keys, one still has the buttons but they don’t work either.

Two sets of tyres on rims, the summer tyres are mismatched, and the tread is still ok on all of them.

The car has been very good to drive; if the defect list had been shorter, I would have kept it for myself.
