Buick Riviera, 1963, Hyvinkää

Buick for sale due to a lack of time for the hobby.
A solid-bodied, well-kept and very reliable -63 Wildcat. The car has also been driven long distances this summer without any problems (for example, a recent Hyvinkää–Loimaa–Hyvinkää trip), so this is an immediately ready classic to drive straight away.

Technical details and upgrades made:

• Engine & gearbox: Original 425 Wildcat (Nailhead V8) and Dynaflow automatic.

• Runs nicely, accelerates well and the gearbox changes as it should.

• Spark plugs recently replaced.

• Cooling: Efficient new aluminium radiator (keeps temperatures under control in summer heat).

• Tyres & wheels: Stylish whitewall tyres with nice chrome wheels, renewed in spring. All wheel bolts were also replaced at the same time for peace of mind.

• Electrics: New quality yellow Optima battery, with a main switch fitted on the negative side for added safety. Windscreen wiper switch also replaced.

• Interior: Completely re-trimmed neatly and with good taste (not fully original pattern, but a very tidy look); a few buttons were missing.

• Note (honest little classic-car quirks):

• The rear paintwork is poor and will need attention at some point if you want a show car. The body has honest patina, but it is perfectly usable as is.

• There is old filler cracking along the lower edge of the rear window (see picture). The metal underneath is completely solid and healthy, so the car does not need welding! This has been taken into account in the price.

• Some minor window issues: the rear window on the driver’s side does not work, and the small front quarter window on the passenger side is stuck, likely due to a stripped gear. All other windows work normally.

 MSD distributor

 MSD 8202 Blaster 2 ignition coil

 New, larger aluminium radiator (3-row)

 Gates 16 psi safety cap on radiator

 Larger fan and custom aluminium fan shroud

 New water pump

 Gates 33036 thermostat 160F / 71 C

 Panhard bar welded

 U-joints replaced

 New front wheel bearings

 All bulbs checked / replaced

 New Forever Sharp steering wheel with detachable rim.

 New horn units

 Retro radio and new electric antenna, enclosure speakers in front

Now just put your foot down, smile, and let the nailhead live up to its reputation.
