A torque wrench is a precise measuring tool for adjusting torque. It is designed for tightening threaded connections so that the clamping force is accurately known and matched to the material used and the strength of the bolt and nut. The torque wrench is especially suitable for vehicle engineering and other situations where the manufacturer has specified the required tightening torque exactly.

The wrench works with a mechanical click mechanism that gives a "click" sound when the set force is reached. The torque scale is located in the handle, and adjustment is done by turning the handle.
