So, this is a slightly rarer Buell X1. The bike is a bit of a mix from the factory: the chassis is Showa and adjustable front and rear! The brakes are the familiar and reliable Nissins, and the engine is borrowed from Harley-Davidson’s Sportster. But no need to worry, the performance is not Harley-level: with Buell’s own heads and fuel system (and with a freer exhaust and filter), the lazy Sportster’s ~60 hp has been increased with the factory race ECU to as much as 95 horsepower! Without losing the familiar Harley torque! The bike pulls like a rocket and sounds like one too, thanks to the Wileyco silencer.

Imported to Finland in 2004 and from 2007 to 2026 it was with the same owner, who hardly rode it at all, judging by the rear tyre whose DOT marking is 09... (The sale includes new Metzeler Roadtec Z6 tyres, under the bike if I manage to fit them, but otherwise I recommend the buyer to go straight to tyre replacement after the deal).

Now in 2026 the bike has changed hands twice, i.e. to the previous owner before me, who tuned it a bit, and then to me, who restored some of the modifications more to my taste. Included are both original parts and these streetfighter-style custom parts. The last 3 photos show the bike’s current looks, and the last 2 photos show how it was when it came to me.

The bike is a pleasure to ride on both highways and twisty roads, and it does not even consume much fuel! Approx. 5 l/100 km, and there have been no issues during my ownership (approx. 3,000 km)!

Primary and engine oils changed approx. 4,000 km ago, along with the battery and spark plugs!

Although the paint is a nice colour, it is clearly rattle-can sprayed when viewed up close.

No lower fairing, because the previous owner’s homemade one shook itself apart.

The digital instrument cluster has now been removed and replaced with the original one using a slimmer 3D-printed bracket. Round bar-end mirrors were also fitted, and the buyer can choose between round and non-round mirrors. The original instrument cluster now shows 23,345 km and the digital cluster had accumulated approx. 3,600 km, so the total mileage is approx. 27,000 km.

However, the electrics etc. are in standard condition, meaning connectors etc. have been replaced with new identical parts (Deutsch-DT). So no destructive bodge jobs have been made.
