Sikaflex®-265

Weather-resistant glass adhesive and exterior sealing compound for rolling stock, with the option of accelerated curing through.

Sikaflex®-265 is a 1-component glass adhesive for bonding windows in heavy vehicles and for the surrounding exterior seams. The product’s excellent weather resistance makes it a recommended sealant for vehicle exterior joints. Sikaflex®-265 is compatible for use in Sika’s black-primer-free bonding system. The curing speed of Sikaflex®-265 can be accelerated using the Sika Booster system.

CHEMICAL RESISTANCE

Sikaflex®-265 is generally resistant to water, seawater, diluted acid-based and diluted alkali-based cleaning agents. It is temporarily resistant to fuels, mineral oils, plant and animal fats and oils. It is not resistant to organic acids, glycol alcohol, concentrated mineral acids and alkali solutions, or solvents.

Use

Sikaflex®-265 has been developed for glass bonding applications in both production line and aftersales use. Due to its good spatula-smoothing and weather resistance properties, it can also be used for exterior vehicle sealing. Please refer to the manufacturer’s instructions and carry out tests on original material surfaces before using Sikaflex®-265 on plastic grades that are sensitive to stress cracking. Sikaflex®-265 is intended for professional use only. The product must be tested on actual material surfaces and under actual operating conditions to verify adhesion and compatibility.
