Description and history

Now up for auction is a true gentleman's classic, Jaguar XJ6 4.0 Sovereign (X300) in timeless British racing green exterior colour with stylish beige leather interior. The car has been in my hobby use for the last 5 years and has also inspired my wider Jaguar collection. I originally intended to register this car as a museum vehicle, but due to a newer XJ8 purchase I am now letting it go to the next enthusiast. The car has just been taken out of winter storage and is ready to drive. The car is located in Lapland, Ylitornio.

Technology and servicing:

The car is in good technical condition and seasonal servicing has been carried out regularly during my ownership.

The car passed inspection with clean papers on Wednesday 1.7.2026 without a single remark.

Engine: Reliable and torquey 4.0-litre inline six.

Most recent servicing: Within the last 2 years the battery, lambda sensor and rear sections of the exhaust system have been replaced. During my ownership, the automatic transmission and differential oils have also been changed, as well as new spark plugs (at 278,850 km).

Interior and equipment.

The interior is in very tidy condition and in great shape for its age.

• The classic walnut trim has remained beautiful.

• The light/beige Sovereign leather upholstery is intact and in good condition.

• Note: as is typical, the headliner has started to sag in places and is currently neatly secured with pins.

Body condition and cosmetic defects (See photos)

The car presents well overall, but the bodywork and surfaces have a little cosmetic work for an enthusiast.

• There are clearcoat defects on the left side of the bonnet and on the boot lid (the boot lid paintwork is poor).

• There is an approximately 5 cm developing rust spot under the paint on the arch of the left rear wing - still easy to catch and repair.

• The original Jaguar alloy wheels have superficial oxidation.

Here is a reliable, inspected and ready-to-drive classic for immediate use or, with a little effort, for museum registration!
