The car has recently had quite extensive work done: a diesel particulate filter and a (used) gearbox have been fitted. It runs and is good to drive, but it occasionally smokes heavily and likely consumes oil. We have not carried out official oil-consumption measurements or further investigations in this respect. After the repairs and parts fitted it has now passed inspection; without these repairs it would probably have failed the emissions test.
