I bought the car straight from a taxi and thought I'd get it sorted, but I wasn't the right person to fix it as modern cars are too complicated with too many tricky issues for me.

The car is in daily use and the mileage goes up by a couple of tens of kilometres each day. It can be driven, but it goes into limp mode and I can't say why; I suspect some kind of electrical fault. When the car is plugged in after going into limp mode, it shows fault codes for the air mass meter,

the bypass valve, too low boost pressure and the crankcase breather heating element (the heating element wire was disconnected and got lost during the turbo replacement). According to Xentry, the exhaust pressure is also escaping too high; the target value was 1000-2000 hPa under full load acceleration, but now it goes over 4500 hPa at best.

And when the ignition is switched on, it shows

auxiliary battery (the auxiliary battery has been replaced, I don't know if it needs to be coded/programmed somehow)


So the car can be driven, but it goes into limp mode and the cause is not fully clear. I couldn't get the AdBlue fault code cleared with Xentry.


There may also be other faults; I've mainly tried to focus first on the drivability so I could get rid of the limp mode. I've driven the car for over 3000 km myself.


I'll update the text if anything else comes to mind; I've tried to tell everything I know about the car. Of course, you can get more information by calling, but I can't tell any more than what's written here. If I knew where the fault was, I would fix it myself and drive the car myself.

Defects and other observations

The rear shock absorbers are completely worn out.

There is a fault code from AdBlue (currently it shows there is still just over 700 km range left)

Turbo just replaced (used)

Fuel tank with transfer pump (used)

A couple of bypass valves.

Xentry shows that exhaust pressure rises too high; I don't know whether the limp mode is caused by that or something else.

After starting, it usually accelerates normally, and then goes into limp mode during driving. On start-up it also complains about the lane assist or whatever it is called, but it does not affect driving.

The radio sometimes switches off and then starts up again by itself, and when reversing the image from the radio always appears if it happens to be displayed.

The rear tyres are in fairly poor condition; the front tyres were replaced in summer. Parking sensor does not work. The cable for the electric sliding door has come loose, so it currently works manually. It is difficult to open from the inside; you have to
