For sale: Plymouth Satellite 4-door sedan 1971 "PROJECT" for restoration
Mechanics:
"numbers matching" 318 + 904 + 8 3/4 limited-slip
"performance cam", not sure?
Edelbrock Performer 318/360 intake manifold
Holley 600 CFM (1850-3 1179) carburettor
headers
Martelius(?) dual exhausts
shift kit in transmission
performance has been around 10 sec 0-100 km/h by stopwatch, so a pretty good small block for a B-body
power steering
power brakes
front disc brakes
rear drum brakes
3-point seat belts in front - I had even forgotten
Checked:
engine and transmission "numbers match"
limited-slip in the rear axle
sheet metal repair is needed at least at the rear end of the front subframe and the crossmember joint on both right and left sides (the torsion bar mounts are intact - see photos)
otherwise a solid-bodied car = as far as I can see, nothing soft enough anywhere to cause rejection
as-is assembly for road use after the above welding and cleaning of parts (if you feel like cleaning them)
some part / joint / bushing etc. in the front end / front suspension / chassis / steering may need replacing
If you want a full restoration, it will need more extensive work. But builders of such cars will surely know what they are doing and buying.
Similar ones have not been seen for sale for a long time, at least not on Nettiauto or publicly.
More information:
My first American hobby car is being sold as a project because I won't manage to finish it myself.
the car has been in my possession for the last 25 years
I bought the car in 2001
I drove it for just over 23,000 km over five summers
last passed inspection in 2004
failed inspection in 2006 due to rust in the front subframe
last driven in December 2012 when moved to the current storage (last photos, incl. engine installed)
stored in a carport / cold hall since 2006 ->
in the current warm and dry garage since 12/2012 ->
partly dismantled since 2013, when I started the project
still generally neat and tidy in appearance
repaired and painted by previous owners apparently in the 1990s, when, among other things, new front wings were fitted
probably also mechanically overhauled and engine and transmission rebuilt etc. in the 1990s
undercarriage mostly solid and intact - no through-holes - underseal, oil (mechanical leaks), rust etc.
oil leaks from the engine, transmission and rear axle
the shift kit in the transmission shifted well, compared to other cars I have driven and owned
the engine also ran well; I only remember the carburettor flooding once
the interior needs cleaning and refurbishment at the driver's seat; I wiped off the dust and it still looks good
some parts will likely need replacing during reassembly
In any case, this is a 55-year-old "Finnish import" car, so something has certainly been done to it over the years that I don't even know about. I mainly enjoyed driving it from 2001 to 2006. Winter storage at the time was a farm machinery shed with an earthen floor. In 2011 it was moved to a cold hall with a concrete floor and in 12/2012 to its current place in a warm garage (shared garage).

Normal wear and tear. The car has been out of use for 20 years. After the subframe sheet metal repairs, the front end of the car must be reassembled. The engine oil was drained in 2013, so it needs new oil etc. The axle assembly, steering, joints etc. may need some parts replaced or servicing/repair, even though everything was dismantled from a working car. Parts are included.
