So, I am now selling the E-Class estate that has served me for almost 5 years. During my ownership the car has worked technically faultlessly, but even older cars come with setbacks that have been repaired over the years.

The car has plenty of service/repair receipts, which will be shown at the viewing and possible test drive. I have kept a service log myself and have serviced the car regularly. The car has been serviced both by myself and by workshops. There are some cosmetic issues with the car.

I am selling the car because the insurance costs have become high for me. Also, the tax on a diesel of this size is fairly high. The car is sold with two sets of wheels and rims. Summer tyres have been driven for one summer, and the winter tyres fitted are worn out.

The car is fitted with the “legendary” OM648 3.2-litre inline-six diesel and 5G-Tronic gearbox, and responds to the throttle as needed in any situation. For someone interested, it is also a potential tuning base. It has always been standard and still is; nothing has been tampered with by me. Technically the car is working.

Some parts I have ordered over time can also be included with the car.

At the moment the car has a couple of minor faults: the rear window wiper motor is broken and the ESP light comes on from time to time, which was traced with a tester to the steering angle sensor, which seems to be gradually reaching the end of its life. Another downside is that the radio does not always switch on immediately by itself, but comes to life later.

The body is in good condition and the visible parts of the underbody are solid too. Even the screwdriver has not yet gone through the plastic sill when tested. So it is surprisingly rust-free for a Mercedes of this age.

Pros and cons:

• + Rear air springs (Arnott) and shock absorbers (KYB) replaced just over a year ago

• + Almost all front suspension joints replaced for the last inspection

• + Does not rattle or knock much

• - Rear bumper patched with Gorilla tape

• - Front bumper has impact marks from a rabbit

• - Rear wiper motor broken

• - ESP light comes on occasionally

A CarVertical report was taken today, 28.7, and it was clean. The car is an imported vehicle and was brought from Germany in 2008. The report can be sent via WhatsApp on request.

The car is in daily use, so the mileage keeps increasing all the time.
