A well-travelled but tidy Merc moving on. I also have a van and a motorcycle, and I can’t drive them all enough, so something must go. Just returned from a 1,500 km trip without worries, average consumption 5.2 L/100 km.

Under the bonnet is Mercedes’ last good four-cylinder engine, the OM651, with the early-family (W204, W212) quality issues already corrected.

The car was sold new as a taxi, so this particular vehicle has an extended service programme/service history (e.g. the timing cover was included in that service programme), larger oil capacity and a larger fuel tank compared with the consumer version. Printed copies of the electronic service book are included (as far as available from the vehicle, I believe up to 550,000 km).

Exterior has been slightly refreshed:

- Rear window wiper delete (kill all wipers)

To avoid the listing being only praise, this age/mileage car does have some issues:

- One front wheel vibrates slightly above 120 km/h; no scuffs, likely needs balancing.

- The driver’s window sometimes thinks there is an obstruction when closing and must be raised again with the switch.

- The only interior negative is wear on the driver-side B-pillar trim.
