For sale: a Yamaha XJ in very tidy condition — a proper touring bike with Givi side and top cases.

I bought this about a month ago full of enthusiasm to start riding. It turned out to be just initial excitement: I rode a couple of thousand kilometres and the main enthusiasm has faded; we now mainly use the car.

The bike has a small riser under the handlebars to give a slightly more upright riding position. I found it comfortable even on longer rides — I am 183 cm tall and 100 kg. The screen has a small extension that directs the wind well over you. The tyres are in good condition and it still handles twisty roads with ease.

The bike has been serviced at least adequately and the original service book and owner’s manual are included. I will service the bike again before sale even though it is not strictly necessary — it’s been my habit.

Now the small negatives: the screen is a bit battered; the mirrors hit it at full lock so it moves a little. The clutch makes a bit of noise — apparently a common quirk with these, though it’s not really a fault, as the clutch otherwise works very well, grabs fine and makes starting off easy. So not exactly defects, but worth mentioning.
