Kawasaki Ninja ZX-9R | Big beast in tidy condition! | 1998 / 58,000 km, Salo

Here's a surprisingly well-preserved ZX-9R Ninja for its next rider.

The 1998 model remains in good external condition. There are no major scratches and the fairings are intact. The tyres have tread remaining, there is a removable ducktail on the passenger seat (underneath is the seat) and it still has plenty of life in the throttle.

As a special feature, the previous owner fitted a recording camera system. Cameras are fitted front and rear. Insert an SD card and you can record your rides directly to it.

Now for the downsides: there is no service book or other documentation. The previous owner says they fitted new spark plugs, oil and filter this season. There is no further information on earlier servicing.

The bike starts well but idles and runs a little unevenly at low revs. The plugs have been changed, so perhaps the carburettors need synchronising? That's not a major fault, just typical tuning for an older-school machine.

But remember this is an old motorcycle, so some hidden faults or adjustments may appear at any time.

In any case the external condition is exceptionally good and, with servicing, tuning or repairs, this is a great machine!

Before bidding you should accept that, on a bike of this age, various faults may occur. Based on a test ride the mechanics are OK apart from the uneven running, but future faults are hard to predict.
