Beautiful Toyota Land Cruiser BJ40, 1979 — being sold as no longer needed. Last inspected on 18 August 2020; since then it has been kept in a heated garage.


The car has, however, been driven short distances each summer to vintage car events.


The odometer is broken — the last digit just spins and the other digits are stuck. No exact mileage is known.


I bought it in 2018 and in 2018/2019 I did, among other things:

  • Welding work

  • Fitted a new alternator and exhaust

  • Painted the car with Tikkurila Temadur 2-component paint (roller-applied, so the finish is slightly uneven)

  • Bought new wheels and tyres (32x11.5 R15)


The car has a removable roof and doors, so it also makes a great summer car!

Original mechanical winch (works).

Registered as a van (for two), but I have fitted rear seats from an old Jeep (the car passed inspection with them installed). The seats can be removed easily if required.

Batteries are poor and need replacing.

Winter tyres on rims are also included.

The brakes should probably be checked before inspection (one brake cylinder is leaking).
