Well-driving Bora in neat condition for its age!

A Bora with moderate mileage and a good service history ready for its next home. Drives well and I can’t find anything major to mention — the reliable 1.6 petrol still pulls lively after 25 years!

Rust has mostly stayed away on this example; arches and sills are unusually good. The only visible rust spots are at the edges of the driver and passenger front arches. The car has not been put on a lift, so the underside condition is unknown.

• Two sets of tyres on steel wheels. Summer tyres approx. 4.4 mm, winter tyres approx. 7.4 mm

• Comprehensive service book, though not everything is recorded as many repairs were done privately.

• Timing kit + water pump replaced at 202,000 km / 2019. Cylinder head refurbished at 180,000 km, wheel alignment recently adjusted.

Defects:

• Engine fault light. Codes read: P0402 (EGR A Flow Excessive Detected) and P0135 (O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 1). The first suggests EGR carbon build-up, the second refers to the pre-catalyst lambda sensor. Both are common on cars of this age. Codes were cleared and the light did not reappear on a short test drive. The fault light may, and likely will, come back on.

• Paintwork has seen better days. Clearcoat has lost its shine — not show-car condition.

• Small touch-up paint marks/other blemishes around the car, visible in the photos.

• Driver’s door electric window switch panel/door handle detached.

A relatively well-kept Bora with minor faults for its next owner — it still has plenty of kilometres left to give.
