All YKI rowboat models feature a very durable, whole-hull–stiffening sand-resin keel that keeps the centre of gravity below the waterline, so the boat will not capsize even if you stand on the gunwale. YKI boats have a load-bearing transom that, when rowing, sits above the waterline and does not hinder rowing. The load-bearing transom design comes into its own when driving with an engine. Trim tabs are available as an accessory, bringing the boat’s behaviour closer to that of a motorboat. The hull shape also takes engine-driven handling into account and performs excellently with an electric outboard.
