Now available as a project bike: a classic Yamaha that with a little work could be a nice ride for summer outings. We'll be blunt and list the negatives first:

  • Front brake cable missing

  • After standing for a couple of weeks it needed extra cranking to start

  • Passenger seat upholstery torn

  • Not all lights are working

  • Due to the missing front brake no proper test ride has been carried out, so any faults at higher speeds are unknown

  • Scratches on the fairings and clutch cover — it has been laid on its side at some point

  • Left mirror is loosely attached, likely damaged in the fall


There are, however, some positives:


  • Although it takes a bit of effort, it starts and, after warming up briefly, stays running

  • Clutch works well and at least the first couple of gears change smoothly

  • Two keys

  • Tyres in good condition

  • Electrics work except for the lights

  • Single-plate (i.e. not been in a collision), despite being a powerful sport bike


In short: with a paint job, seat upholstery, fitting the brake cable and fixing the mirror you could have a fine, functioning single-plate classic bike. Bid now and get it ready to ride this summer.




Defects and other observations

On a short test ride we made the following observations
- Gearbox and clutch work, engine runs OK
- Front brake cable is missing. Has only been ridden at about 20–30 km/h

The motorcycle has not been subject to a technical inspection by us and not all equipment has been tested. There may be hidden faults that we did not notice on the test ride. You are welcome to inspect the motorcycle in more detail before placing a binding bid. Please arrange your visit in advance, thank you.
