Mercedes-Benz 190, 1990, Kirkkonummi

Has served as my second summer car for six summers. Now it's time for the next owner to enjoy it. This beautiful car is not ruined by miles. Photos taken in summer 2025, but the condition has not changed since then.

• I bought the car in 2019 in Germany at the Techno-Classica Essen event from a Swedish seller. Besides one actual owner, the car had three short-term owners in Sweden before me. Originally sold in Sweden by Philipson Ab, an authorised Mercedes dealer.

• The sunroof works and does not leak. 5-speed gearbox (optional) and seat heaters. An engine block heater is even fitted (condition unknown).

• All inspection certificates from new appear to be included, possibly missing one.

• Museum-inspected and re-registered as a historic vehicle in 2021.

• Interior is overall in very good condition; one small crack in the left corner of the dashboard at the air vent. The dashboard itself is otherwise intact.

• No visible bodges or wiring hacks in the engine bay.

• The windscreen is original.

• Service book well filled over time. During Finnish ownership there are a couple of stamps and the oil was changed a few times.

• Spare parts purchased in advance for the next service are included.

• Serviced July 2025; the rear brakes were extensively renewed at the same time.

In good running condition, but not perfect. Known improvement/repair items listed below:

• Front brake dust shields (repair recommended at inspection)

• Small rust bubbles under the paint on the front wings, inside the boot lid and likely elsewhere on close inspection

• The rear slightly weeps but no obvious leak point was found (repair recommended at inspection).

• Surface rust on the underbody; best to address now while still easy

• The front of the body has been repainted at some point. The paint surface looks good in my view, but the shade deviates slightly from the original

• In cold weather (below 5 °C) it needs some fiddling. Someone advised the cold-start injector needs replacing. A spare injection unit is included, condition unknown.

• The odometer/speedometer occasionally drops to zero and then jumps back. Cause not investigated

• There will surely be other small — and possibly larger — issues as with any old car. I can't be more specific as I'm not a mechanic.
