From daily use to auction. Handy runabout, though no longer cosmetically perfect!

A few points to note: the upper instrument lights (speed display and radio display) are very dim and not visible in sunlight. The body shows signs of use. Headlamp lenses are cloudy. Some bumper fastenings are weak at the front and rear. Early rust at the windscreen/roof junction (does not affect driving or the MOT/inspection).

When driving a front-end knock is noticeable over bumps. The gearbox slips slightly, but that seems to be a trait of this model's automatics. If you press the accelerator lightly at low revs the car jerks a little. Otherwise it accelerates fine and cruises smoothly at steady throttle.

Two good tyres on their own wheels: summer tyres with about 5–6 mm tread and winter studded tyres with studs intact and about 6–7 mm tread.

A very handy car for an inexpensive everyday vehicle. For the next inspection it will probably only need the front-end play sorted (likely track rod ends/wishbones).

On a short test drive we made the following observations:

  • The front end knocks slightly over bumps. The gearbox sometimes hesitates when changing, about a one-second delay. Under light throttle the car jerks/stumbles slightly.
