A clever engineer — possibly even a Master of Engineering — ordered the VW Touran for lease use and managed to fit the whole family in. The 7-seat petrol automatic was exactly what Sirpa had insisted on. So it was a disappointment when the Touran was swapped in 2011, just before the summer, for a smaller, soulless estate. The boy couldn’t fit in that one for the sauna. The next owner bought the car second-hand and drove it on main roads until 2014, when he found an Audi in Keminmaa and swapped. Taisto then bought the car; although it had a little too much space for him, as a practical man he wanted to get all his belongings in at once. When the Covid lockdown began and the Canaries trip with Sinikka was cancelled, Taisto used a refund from Finnair to trade the car in April 2020 for a new Nissan at the same dealer he had bought it from six years earlier. Four weeks later the Touran moved on to a new owner, who drove it until February 2026. The space was then needed and the car was traded to Aine in Kemi.


In other words: a VW Touran traded in from the 4th owner, which failed the inspection on emissions and brakes. Fault-finding showed misfires on cylinders 1 and 4 and, on closer inspection, poor compression on cylinder 4 with leakage past the valves. Cylinders 2 and 3 show leakage into the oil sump.


There is therefore quite a lot to list under repairs, although it has a reasonable service history and, for its age, a decent body for a VW. Please study the photos carefully before bidding.
