Has been out of service for a couple of years. I lost interest in repairing it myself. The engine carbonises and emits black smoke from the tailpipe. The issue has been investigated but the root cause is unknown. Once that is identified and fixed, it should be possible to make it roadworthy again. The car did pass inspection when I had the engine cleaned of carbon.


Faults:

- carbonised engine; appears to run rich and emits a cloud of black smoke

- some bearing squeaks when the engine is cold

- reverse light has stopped working

- windscreen has a crack; this did not prevent passing inspection. Rear right tail light cracked.

- left mirror is a different shade

- studded tyres worn

- coolant reservoir/hose leaks slightly

- interior needs cleaning

- instrument cluster programmed so the warning light does not illuminate


Good points:

- well protected against rust

- interior in good condition (needs cleaning)

- runs well when not affected by carbon; power is retained

- reasonable equipment; all buttons intact and working

- summers OK — approx. 1.5 summers driven with low mileage
