Original intermediate-model Honda Monkey, model year 1987. The intermediate models arrived in Finland in 1987 with major changes compared with earlier models.

Among others:

  • The handlebars changed from folding to a cross & off‑road style.

  • The seat changed to a larger, softer one.

  • Different brake drums.

  • Lights for high and low beam.

The mechanics also received major updates: the 3-speed semi-automatic was replaced by a 4-speed manual with a clutch, and the engine was extensively revised — from the blocks, piston and head to the crankcase, nothing remained as before.


Note: Only 2,000 of these intermediate models were imported into Finland; 800 of them were red. The rest were blue and black — so blue and black are the rarest. The Honda is in full working order and ready either for restoration or for immediate riding. The ignition key and handlebar lock work.

Currently fitted with a larger carburettor, but the original carburettor is included.
