It's always a pleasure to sell a car that's familiar from TV. Especially when it's at least the mother — and perhaps the father — of all car series: Latela. This example had lots of screen time and appeared in almost every episode of season one as Lauri Huttunen's car. If cars were given Venla awards, this one would undoubtedly have won Best Supporting Role. Above all, the car is still broadly in the same condition as 14 years ago — unbelievable! Hopefully this piece of cultural heritage will be cared for in the future and treated like an archaeological find.

Now, briefly about the car. The previous owner did a lot of work on it late last year for the MOT. Repaired/replaced items include the rear wheel arches, fuel tank, front brake discs and pads, rear brake shoes with hardware, cylinders and handbrake cables. After the MOT the original DOHC engine suffered total failure and was replaced with the only unit available off the shelf — a two‑litre OHC with a new FAJS carburettor and a 4‑speed gearbox. The steering rack has been changed to an unassisted (manual) unit. The car comes with paperwork, meaning the original DOHC setup (including covers) must be restored for the next MOT. It would be wise to find a really rotten or even a written‑off example to take the parts from. MOT is valid until 16 November 2026 and the car is currently roadworthy and in traffic use.

About equipment/appearance. The car has genuine RS bumpers and skirts and a correct limited‑slip differential. Twin headlights and the "Cossuri" grille on the bonnet create a feeling of power and the exhaust note is masculine. Included are new blue mudflaps for each corner (exactly the same type that were originally fitted). There is a sunroof, but the wind‑handle has been damaged. The stereo is a Sony Bluetooth/USB head unit. Summer wheels are rare 5‑spoke Mangels near the end of their life with summer tyres, and winter wheels are white multi‑spoke rims with good studded tyres.

Defects and omissions section: First, it should be restated that the car currently has an unoriginal carburettor setup. The choke/cold‑start on the carb is not working and the carb bowl sometimes drips from the lower edge. There are issues with the bodywork and these are photographed in the ad. The rear arches/quarters have been filler‑painted by the previous owner after arch replacement and there are other repairs. Overall the car looks tidy and is an attractive example and can be restored to excellent condition partly by repainting. The speedometer cable is broken, so the speedometer does not move and the true mileage is unknown. The tachometer does not work due to the engine swap. I have not tried the doors with the locks because these Sierras often have faults and the doors can lock to the rear lock easily. The spoiler brake‑light lens is missing and there are certainly other items I haven't thought of right now. Wheel alignment would be advisable. The photos show the vehicle condition quite well.
