Over the weekend the car developed a fault and no longer starts. For that reason the highest bid had to be rejected.


Starting problem: On Friday 3 July the engine began running unevenly and the idle in particular cut out and lacked power.

On Sunday the car would not start and the engine warning light is illuminated in yellow while the oil and battery lights are red.

The car therefore will not start and must be towed. I don’t know whether it can be repaired, so it is offered primarily for parts.


The Yaris has been a second car for 11 years and now must go. Otherwise it has been tidy and reliable, but there’s no appetite for a new repair. In the last couple of years a lot has been invested. It now needs rust repairs to the rear trailing arms (left and right), rust repair to the left sill box and handbrake adjustment for inspection. Re-inspection by 13/07/2026.


Jan 2026: both front brakes renewed (discs, pads, calipers) and alternator and battery replaced. Rust repairs done in 2025 to the rear wheel housings and sills. Windscreen replaced and clutch renewed in 2023. Serviced annually. Last serviced May 2026. Starting sometimes requires a little extra throttle, but starts on the first try. No fault code appears relating to starting; the workshop cleaned the fuel pressure sensor. Two sets of tyres, but will need replacing soon.
