A popular Toyota in Finland is being sold as surplus because a larger car has been bought.

The body shows signs of use for its age, but it has not been cosmetically fixed with filler or spray paint — the car's condition is presented honestly.

Oil was changed on 1 May 2026 and at the same time the spark plugs, air filter and pollen (cabin) filter were replaced; the air conditioning was also serviced.

The underside was rustproofed with cavity protection on 20 June 2026; the rear brakes were cleaned and adjusted at the same time.

The car drives straight and is mechanically sound. Cruise control makes long journeys more comfortable.

Electric windows and mirrors work normally, as does the remote central locking.

The spare key is missing its "buttons" but functions normally.

I have had to add oil to the engine after driving the car about 3,000 km, but the engine does not emit blue smoke or anything else concerning. Fuel consumption according to the trip computer can be as low as 5.4 L/100 km, around 7 L/100 km in town.

The interior is reasonably tidy for its age.

There is a crack in the windscreen, not in the driver's line of sight, and a few stone chips.

The above has been repaired by a windscreen specialist and the crack's spread has been restricted.

This has passed inspection as it is, but a new screen would be advisable in the future — though it is acceptable for now.

Summer and winter tyres are on their own rims (steel wheels). Tread on the summer tyres is reasonable, but the winter tyres should ideally be renewed for safety, though they are still usable. There is a tow bar, but when I rented a trailer no lights came on.

I did not investigate the fault further; superficially the towbar/plug appears intact.

This Toyota has very low insurance and road tax costs.
