Exterior looks relatively smart for its age; this Mercedes is looking for a capable welder / a loving home.

The car has been used for commuting for a few months and is now in for service (very comprehensive, see attached photo; emissions test also passed). During the service a striking reminder of the previous owner's lack of rust protection was noticed (photo attached).


There is a lot to say about the car, both good and bad.


Good:

+ Cruise control and speed limiter work

+ Gearbox engages drive and reverse

+ Air conditioning blows nicely cold after a short drive

+ Very low average consumption, approx. 5 L/100 km

+ Stylish AMG front end

+ Impressive engine sounds — likely previous owner's tuning (related to the muffler)

+ Stereo sounds good

+ Webasto heater works (remote control included)


Drawbacks:

- Rust is present, likely extensive (I haven't had it inspected and I won't bother)

- Steering clicks occasionally when turning the wheel

- Low ride height

- Sunroof will not open; fault not investigated


This is a car for someone to work on; I no longer have the time or money to complete repairs.
