As the recent inspection report shows, the inspector was not won over by the car's charm this time and the report is marked FAILED. This car therefore offers its next owner either a great restoration project or an excellent pile of spare parts. The engine runs and the emissions were actually fine (emissions test passed and OBD OK!), but a valid MOT requires some love, welding and a replacement part.

Major issues found at inspection (failures):

• Seat belt: The centre rear seat belt is missing (fits four people, the fifth will have to walk).

• Suspension and joints: The front right lower wishbone ball joint is loose, and the outer track rod end on the front left needs replacing.

• Tires: One studded tyre is reportedly the wrong size front and rear (the car appears to lean slightly).

• Bodywork: Typical Finnish corrosion in the sill areas (rust damage on both left and right). Straightforward for someone who can weld.

Repair recommendations (cosmetic and small fixes):

• The front headlight does not work.

• There is a crack in the windscreen.

• The engine has an oil leak (marks its territory — typical for its year).
