The tub is made of polyethylene and is completely seamless, very easy to keep clean and simple to use.

The complete delivery includes a sturdy, snow-load resistant plastic cover with lifting handle, a large approx. 35 kW marine-aluminium stove, a drain tap and outlet pipe. The tub is insulated. The base contains a 45 cm Styrofoam fill so this tub won’t heave in frost. The outer cladding is Finnish heat-treated pine (Lunawood). The tub package is 100% Finnish workmanship.

Key Flag product from our own production line

The Classic Hot Tub from Hyvän Kaupan Paikka is manufactured in Finland down to the smallest detail. We are very proud of our production line and have made this Classic Hot Tub model for years using a tried method. The side panels arrive at the factory as long material, are cut to size and assembled into an element into which the previously glued insulating base from Sastamala and the maintenance-free PE-plastic tub cast by Pipelifе from Oulu are placed. Our skilled specialists drill the drain hole in the bottom, make the heater openings in the side, and fit the hoses. Finally the package is tilted carefully on its side to fit the outlet pipe.

The Classic Hot Tub is delivered freight-free to its new happy owner, who only needs a water hose, firewood and a fire starter. The new owner should ensure the tub is level so the water sits evenly. Instructions are included, but in practice you just fasten the heater to the tub with hose clamps on a level surface, screw the heater’s drain valve closed and off you go.

Improved seating comfort in the rotationally moulded tub — also for taller bathers

The maintenance-free, rotationally moulded PE-plastic tub comes from nearby Pipelifе in Oulu. At their factory the plastic granules are placed in a mould which is rotated in an oven for about an hour. After cooling the tub is ready to be moved to Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s production line.

We paid special attention to seating comfort when designing the tub. The sides are not vertical, leaving a wedge-shaped insulating air gap between the tub and the edge panel that cushions the bather’s back. Our tubs have higher rims than many manufacturers, so taller bathers’ shoulders sit below the water surface and their necks stay warm. Seat comfort is top-level and legs do not feel cramped, as the bench is comfortably high despite the tub’s overall height.

Super-efficient marine-aluminium stove

Our marine-aluminium stoves are made in Finland. The powerful 35 kW stove copes with both fresh and seawater. Carefully chosen materials make it a top product. Marine aluminium conducts heat well; the stove’s front plate is stainless steel and the glass door lets you check the fire without opening the hatch. The stove package includes two metres of chimney pipe and a rain cap; for additional pipe, a chimney guard or spark arrestor, see the accessories list.

Remember not to use chlorine with marine aluminium, as chlorine oxidises the aluminium. We recommend changing the water regularly and using active oxygen tablets (see accessories). Active oxygen treats the water for about 24 hours; afterwards the water can be used for watering plants since it contains no added chemicals and is safer for children. Non-oxidised water tends to form a slimy film on the tub edges, which active oxygen prevents.

Easy maintenance with little effort

The Classic Hot Tub won’t suffer from frost heave. The 45 cm Styrofoam base prevents cold reaching the bottom and helps keep the water warmer. The delivery includes a plastic cover which significantly reduces heat loss. A well-heated tub will be warm again the next morning with just one load of wood.

There is also warmth in the Lunawood heat-treated pine panels that finish the tub’s exterior. You don’t need to treat the pine if you don’t want to; it will weather to a beautiful grey over time. If you prefer to keep the brown shade, apply wood oil annually. The plastic tub is maintenance-free since there are no moulded seams where dirt can collect. Remember to clean the tub surfaces when changing the water — this is easy with ordinary detergents. More meticulous users may occasionally disinfect the tub, but please ensure correct handling of wastewater.
