Multi-rib belt broke and got into the timing area!!!

  • Timing belt jumped 6 teeth

  • Valve cover removed — estimated damage visible in the picture.

  • Pieces broken from the upper part of the head around the edges of the hydraulic lifter holes. These are visible in the pictures and appear detached on at least one camshaft side.

  • Not inspected in detail; the timing belt did not snap and when the timing was moved back into place the engine still turned over.

Bodywise, in my opinion cleaner than average for its age; one early rust spot photographed behind the driver-side front wheel arch. Otherwise the arches are tidy for their age.
