Here’s an iconic Opel Ascona B 2.0S, of course in two-door form. The inspection expired 20 years ago, so it needs attention to brakes, bodywork and mechanical parts. The car starts and can be driven onto a trailer. The water pump leaks heavily from the weep hole, so it must not be driven on the road. All gauges and lights work, but the heater blower needs coaxing. There is no battery and the battery tray has the usual rust damage. Door hinge pins need replacing (currently substituted with bolts) and the upper plastic cover of the steering column is missing (the lower part is included). The lower edges of the doors will need replacing, but the boot lid and bonnet are unusually good. Some underbody filler/underseal has been scraped away, except under the boot. Not a bad project and the photos show the condition in more detail. This was started to be restored in the past but the work was left unfinished. This has not been a runaround show car; it has had only a few owners (3–4) in its history and was not used as a youth car. Tyres are old studded tyres on GSi Manta wheels. The car is registered but taken out of traffic use. True mileage is unknown.
