This completely unique homemade eye-catcher will be a sure crowd-puller for a restaurant, café, theme park, amusement park or to brighten a neighbour at the end of a driveway. There is no other like it and there won’t be another!


The Velociraptor is entirely homemade, inspired by the Jurassic Park films. The frame is made from metal tubing, rebar, metal sheet and mesh. The exterior has several layers of fibreglass mat and resin. The first paint layer is a top-coat marine paint and the final colours have been sprayed on, with the details painted by brush. The head, fingers and legs are precise 3D prints, securely attached to the rest of the frame and reinforced from the inside.


Design, measuring and construction have certainly taken hundreds of work hours.


The dinosaur is fully weatherproof and very robust. As it stands it will probably last for decades. The base, made from RHS beam, is bolted through the trailer’s base plywood — a secure fixing that is easy to remove if you want to display it elsewhere.


Trailer:


Sukkela 600, year 1983. Lights, wiring loom, tyres, bearings and other necessary parts have been renewed, after which it was painted in a Jurassic Park style. The trailer is registered and road-legal. A cage bolted to the base plywood has been built for the dinosaur and can be removed easily.


The whole setup is reliable and stays together. As a test it was driven approx. 900 km on a weekend trip to the Crawling Thru Finland event.
